So lately I have been getting a lot of questions and requests for some etch a sketch art. Etch a sketch art is a weird talent of mine. For some reason I just pick it up and can draw pretty much anything on it. I was thinking about maybe having/being a part of a local art show. So I guess this is just me thinking out loud. I hear there is a way to preserve the art after you are finished – I am sure how to do that. I am on a mission to find out though! 🙂 My love for etch a sketch is not a recent thing. In middle school I always had one in my locker, high school I had one of those mini etch a sketch pens in my purse…as my purse size grew I started carrying a medium size one! I may or may not have a problem, ok! 🙂 In college (I went for graphic design) my whole portfolio show was based around an etch a sketch theme. Ok ok I am done! I just think it’s funny. In Justines words -“That is so analog” We go to coffee shops sometimes she sits down with her lap top and I sit there with my etch a sketch. 🙂 Here are a couple examples. They are pretty old, but for some reason I never take pictures of them! I will start 🙂

Well yes 🙂 I just am trying to find the easiest way to do that with out shaking it. There are no visible screws in the back.

There are a few practicing artists[1] who use the Etch A Sketch to produce professional lineographic work. Most artists make their work permanent by removing the aluminum powder. This is done either by drilling holes in the bottom of the toy or by removing the entire plastic backing. It is then resealed as a semi-permanent, shake-resistant piece of art.

Very kewl! I have one of those mini Etch A Sketches on my bookshelf. I can’t even muster the patience to fill it with a simple maze design. Doh!

So, I stumbled across your site/blog and I saw your etch-a-sketch skills. I am quite impressed because all I’ve ever been able to make were stairs *pout* but anyways nice skills…you have a talent 🙂
